Gamay the grape of red Beaujolais. Gamay, makes wine you can drink whenever, wherever, however and with whatever you want - although it's particularly good lightly chilled on hoy summer days. It goes well with pates, bacon and sausages because its acidity provides a satisfying foil to their richness.  Gamay in comparison with Zinfandel, is little grown. Several Italian grape varieties are grown,a strong wine full of flavour, but inclining sharp - ideal, in fact, also ideal for rich Italian food.
