Allan Scott Gewurztraminer 2003.... On the record just about everyone has a passion for Gewürztraminer because of its flavoursome and intense aroma’s. Being one of the earliest varieties to ripen it benefits from the more intense heat of early summer...  Viticulture Allan Scott Gewurztraminer 2003....After procrastinating on a token area of Gewürztraminer vines we have finally seen the first crop of a small planted area from the Hounds vineyard. Conventially trellised while grown on particularly stoney soils our expectations are high for producing highly perfumed elegant wine in the future. Vinification..Allan Scott Gewurztraminer 2003...As a first crop this was uniquely hand picked by a group of visiting restaurantuers and employees over from Wellington for the day. Pressed, settled in the usual way and a slow cool ferment ensued. The best way to describe this great Allan Scott Gewurztraminer 2003 is...Possibly because it is a young vine wine the aroma’s and flavours are light and subdued. Still, rose petals and hints of Lychee aroma’s abound and will develop intensity with short term cellaring. Being off dry the full fruit flavours yield an overtone of sweetness balanced with a crisp natural acidity.

Cloudy Bay Gewurztraminer is full of luscious aromas of ripe peaches, rosewater and orange peel introduce the strikingly perfumed ... Cloudy Bay Gewurztraminer. Richly textured, the palate has musky flavours with hints of macadamia nuts and cinnamon ... finishing just off-dry this is a wine with great intensity and length.


Huia Gewurztraminer 2004 Marlborough Region New Zealand 750ml x 12 :

Huia Gewurztraminer 2004 comes from two vineyard sites: The Reed vineyard in the upper Wairau Valley and the Traminer-View vineyard in the lower Wairau Valley. The two vineyards supply Huia with a combination of six Gewürztraminer cultivars. Huia Gewurztraminer 2004, grapes were all hand picked, then crushed, before undergoing a combination of indigenous and inoculated yeast fermentation, giving it more complexity. Five percent of the wine was fermented in 2 to 4 year-old French oak, bringing in an extra layer of richness.On the nose, ripe peaches and spices scents abound. This is an aromatic full flavoured wine, showing ripe pineapple,
lychee, ginger and nutmeg on the palate. The balance and depth of the palate supports a long velvety finish. Luscious.
Huia Gewurztraminer 2004 is delicious with: terrines and patés, Thai food, mild curries, smoked seafood and meats, soy honey duck, blue cheeses and aged cheddar.

 


Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer 2004 Marlborough Region New Zealand 750ml x 12 :

Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer 2004 is dry in style, this wine combines a concentrated and floral bouquet with ginger and lychee flavours, rich spice on the palate and a long finish.Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer ideal food match is prawn and coconut curry, Mexican inspired food.  Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer 2004 is grown in the adjacent Lawson and Woodward vineyards, both sites are clay based soils in the lee of the Wither Hills. The cooler than usual season lead to slower ripening and excellent acid / pH balance. The free run juice was cool fermented in stainless, while the pressing were fermented in seasoned barriques using wild yeast. This portion also underwent malolactic fermentation. The stainless fermented portion provides fragrance and elegance, with the barrel portion bringing complexity and weight to the blend. 
Lawson's Dry Hills Gewurztraminer 2004 cellaring is at its best between 3 and 5 years.It has a alcohol content 14 %,pH: 3.66 ,residual sugar: 7.8 g/l and a total acidity: 6.2 g/l. 


Villa Maria Cellar Selection Gewurztraminer 2004 Marlborough Region New Zealand 750ml x 12 :

Villa Maria Cellar Selection Gewurztraminer 2004...wine is a pale straw green colour with lifted lychee,Turkish delight, floral and spicy ginger notes on the nose. The palate is an intense combination of typical Gewurztraminer fruit and the rich, luscious mouthfeel from the Noble Botrytis. This wine is made in a medium sweet style and balanced by a fresh lingering finish. A fantastic food wine and is ideal for Thai foods, platter of cheeses, dried fruits, nuts and desserts of medium sweetness. Serve well chilled.
